PEFCR LENS INDUSTRY BRIEFING
Towards a shared environmental footprint methodology for eyewear
Frame The Future × 2B Policy
The eyewear industry is moving towards greater environmental transparency, yet we still lack a shared and credible methodology for assessing the environmental footprint of eyewear products.
Frame The Future, together with 2B Policy, is initiating work towards a Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) for eyewear, based on the EU Product Environmental Footprint framework.
For this methodology to be credible and practical, it needs to reflect the full eyewear product.
That means the lens industry needs to be part of the conversation.
JOIN THE BRIEFING
We invite lens manufacturers to a short online industry briefing to:
→ Meet Frame The Future and learn why the alliance was created
→ Understand PEFCR and why a sector-specific methodology matters
→ Explore the role of lenses within the methodology
→ Learn how lens companies can contribute and participate
→ Hear about the next PEFCR meeting at SILMO Paris on 27 September
No prior knowledge of PEF or PEFCR is required.
This is an opportunity to learn more, ask questions and have a voice in shaping a credible, practical and shared approach to environmental footprinting for eyewear.
